-to direct and manage all fire fighting, fire prevention, and fire service activities of the terminal. the fire chief is responsible, through study and consultation with hse manager, for developing recommendations for the protection of life and property in the terminal. administrative duties include planning, directing, and controlling departmental activities including recruitment of personnel, purchase of equipment, control of expenditures, preparation of budget estimates, and the assignment of personnel and equipment. the fire chief consults with the hse manager on problems of policy and planning, but works independently in supervising technical operations.
-gives regular proper education of fire fighting during the introduction/training phase of the new employees
-has to exert constant and sincere effort to indoctrinate and train all employees in each aspect fire fighting awareness necessary to establish proper behavioral control.
-fire chief shall continuously demonstrate a personal concern for all employees' well being through personal example, continuous scrutiny for unsafe acts and hazardous conditions, listening to complaints and positive enforcement of fire fig fighting rules.
-notify management on aspects that might have negative fire fighting impact,
