- May provide general direction to Librarian (library); Director Of Admissions (education); and Registrar, College Or University (education). .
- May serve as chief administrative officer in absence of President, Educational Institution (education).
- Serves as liaison officer with accrediting agencies which evaluate academic programs.
- Advises President, Educational Institution (education) on academic matters.
- Participates in activities of faculty committees, and in development of academic budget.
- Coordinates activities of student advisors.
- Determines scheduling of courses and recommends implementation of additional courses.
- Advises on personnel matters.
- Directs and coordinates activities of deans and chairpersons of individual colleges.
- Develops academic policies and programs for college or university.
